New Generation Indy Cars In the Market from Dallara Motorsports

Italian car-maker, Dallara Motorsports, is set to start the shipment of their first league of products in the new generation Indy Race Cars. The shipment will start from the production unit based at Speedway. Dallara Motorsports had tied up with their US based distributor, Indy Racing Experience, for designing and manufacturing the Racing Cars and launching them well in time before the racing season begins in 2012. The racing cars have been named DW12, as a tribute to the driver Dan Wheldon.
Dan Wheldon had logged 2,000 miles for testing the new Indy car design. He was killed in a crash during the Las Vegas Indy 300. It has also been planned that the first 15 DW12 cars will be picked up by the members of Indy Racing Teams. The sales price of the racing car has been finalized as USD 385,000, with wheels expenses, customized drivers' seat, customized engine or any other accessory being an additional cost. Considering the economic development of Indiana, their IndyCar Teams are given an incentive discount of USD 150,000. Since the Speedway plant is yet to be completely ready for larger productions, the company plans to deliver about 15 cars each month to meet the demand.
