Tips for Rotating the Tires on a Used Honda Civic

Buying a used Honda Civic can save you money while providing you with a reliable and high quality vehicle. However, there are a number of maintenance procedures that you should follow in order to ensure that your Honda Civic is in top condition.
One significant activity is the rotation of your tires. Regular tire rotation will ensure that the handling and traction is maintained. In addition, rotating your tires will also help prevent tire wear on your Honda Civic.
In order to rotate the tires on your Honda Civic, you must first park your car by setting the parking brake and put the car into first gear for a manual transmission Civic. For an automatic Honda Civic, be sure to put the transmission in Park.
Then use a hydraulic jack and jack stands to jack up the front of the Honda Civic and then the rear. All of the tires should be off the ground. Next, you can remove all of the four tires by using a lug wrench to spin and take off all the lug nuts.
Tire rotation will now involve moving the front wheels and tires to the back of the same side of the Civic. You will take the back tires and put them to the front but on the opposite side. The four wheels and tires can be installed into their new locations using a lug wrench to tighten the lug nuts on each wheel. The car will then be lowered again using the jack stands. This process will help the tires of your used Honda Civic to last longer.
